BioOld bio below. New bio? Back in the 1st world and mostly broke. I'm glad to be out of that hell hole but I will admit that there are things I miss about it. I miss the privilege and sense of entitlement I carried about. I'm back to being an average schmuck but at least I'm not suicidal.
I have no idea what the future holds but I am determined to approach it with a positive attitude, dammit!

I am a first-world woman living in a third-world country. My husband is from this country and is from the upper classes. My life is very different from that of most people who live here. I have cultural struggles and moral struggles with everything in my life, and have no one with whom to talk. So where do I turn? LiveJournal - so I may wear my heart on my sleeve anonymously.
My husband is 20 years older than I. We have a bunch of kids between us, but none together. No children live full-time at our home. He is insanely jealous of the computer - he is correct in thinking that the computer is the lover that competes for my attention.
My username relates to my ring - it's actually 4.5 carats, but that made the username too long. My ring cost more than what my full-time, live-in housekeeper makes in 5 years. Isn't that obscene?
